Quickwrite #1 8/27/13

Outside of school my literary life is mainly composed of books that can make me happy and laugh. Currently I am almost finished reading Tina Fey's book Bossypants, in which she talks about her life growing up and her life today. The way she talks about her past is hilarious. However, I also just started reading Radical by Michelle Rhee. So far in the book she has talked about her life growing up and the education she received. Since college I have had a passion for learning more about the school systems in our nation and can't wait to keep reading this book. I know she will have a lot to say about education reform and the teachers unions in this country. I do love reading in my free time, usually on a trip. I love to get caught up in a book.

I don't write much outside of school. If I do it is usually an email, a card, a letter to someone or something along those lines.

As a future educator I want to make reading and writing enjoyable to children as it was to me in elementary school. For me it carried through to my years in middle school, high school, and now college. However for many people that is not the case. I want children to keep the passion for reading and writing throughout their later education.

  1. I'm so glad to hear you're enjoying "Bossypants". I thought that her "Rules for Improve" could definitely apply to writing as well as acting.
